Shawn McEachern to Coach U14 Half-Season

 

We are excited to announce that Shawn McEachern will coach our U14 Elite half-season, National Bound team.  Shawn is currently head boys' varsity ice hockey coach at The Rivers School, in Weston, MA.   Under his leadership, the Rivers boys’ hockey team has won two Eberhart titles and advanced to the post-season 4 times, including the current 2018/19 season.

As a player, Shawn was a Hobey Baker finalist and an All-American at Boston University, where he tallied 186 points in three seasons. He spent 13 years in the NHL, amassing 254 goals and 317 assists, and winning the Stanley Cup in 1992 as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also played for the 1992 US Olympic Team, as well as the 1991 US National Team at the World Championships in Finland. A native of Waltham, he previously served as an assistant coach at UMass-Lowell, Northeastern, and Salem State University.

Jr. Eagles Win 3 State Titles this Fall

The Boston Junior Eagles won 3 Mass State Titles this Fall. The U16 Elite Boys started the title run on November 12, winning the 16 Tier 1 Championship.  Today, it was the girls turn, as U16 Maroon and U19 Maroon, won their Tier 1 titles!

All 3 teams secured their spots in the USA Hockey National Tournament in April 2018.  The girls National Tournament will be hosted in Marlboro, MA while the boys will head to Philadelphia, PA.
